Our Project Partners
An overview of the project partners.
The NORDLINK project is an essential component of WP-5 Task 2 within the Open-WebSearch (OWS) initiative, a Horizon 2020-funded project aiming to develop an independent and transparent search index, comparable to Google, for services like Large Language Model (LLM) training in AI applications.
The Business Informatics Department at Universität Oldenburg, led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Jorge Marx Gómez, manages the NORDLINK project through the Very Large Business Applications (VLBA) group. The VLBA group is a new partner in this initiative, contributing its expertise to the OWS index infrastructure.
In collaboration with other European partners, including renowned computing centers like CERN, LRZ, and CSC, NORDLINK supports the creation of the OWS-Federated Data Infrastructure (OWS-FDI). This federated infrastructure, operated by five partner data centers—CERN, CSC, DLR, IT4I, and LRZ—provides the backbone for key web crawling services and contributes to the development of a decentralized, independent web search platform.
Together, these partners play a pivotal role in shaping the future of transparent web search and AI-driven technologies, ensuring the success and sustainability of the Open-WebSearch (OWS) project.
